JESSICA GRANT

Hi my name is Jessica Grant, I currently hold a 4th degree black belt in kickboxing and a 2nd degree black belt in Satory-Do karate. I started training at the age of 10, since then I have grown to love all martial arts and become greatly revolved in the sport. I've loved travelling and learning from some of the best martial artists in the world.

From all the travelling I have gotten to know countless amounts of great people all over the world, and we all share a love for our art. I have always like to compete as it gives you a chance to show off everything you've learned and all the training you've put in.

After two years of training I discovered a newer more urban art form called 'extreme martial arts' or forms. Since then I have become a member of an international performance team based in England and have shared my knowledge with people all over Ireland. I hope to contribute to the development of this art in Ireland by learning as much as I can from some of the most experienced and successful people in the sport.

When I was 11 I became an assistant instructor and have been teaching ever since. Everyone starts for their own reasons, for confidence, fitness, self defence, to compete, or many other reasons. And my goal is to help every person I teach to reach their full potential and achieve their goals whatever they may be.

FERDIA GRANT

Hello, my name is Ferdia Grant I’m currently a 4th degree black belt in Kickboxing and a 3rd degree black belt in Sin Moo Hapkido. I have been training in these martial arts styles for a few years now and I love it, I can never get enough of it and I also like to try different martial arts when I can to build up my knowledge and experience to teach it to others.

I enjoy competing in kickboxing competitions and love the atmosphere at them. It’s not just about fighting to get trophies and all, although they do motivate you more :p . The main reason I enjoy competing and attending competitions is to meet new people from different countries who share similar interests and become friends. Also from this it creates a good connection base with people all over the world that you can visit and train with.

From my experiences I taught kickboxing classes in the dojo where I trained, then in Kick-Fit and now in Swift Kick Martial Arts Academy to most ages and I enjoy this as it lets me feel good knowing that I can share my knowledge with others and help benefit them in many ways through learning the techniques of kickboxing and of fighting in real life self defence situations. This is done through learning the skills required and to achieve a level of fitness and conditioning in order to last a fight or self defence situation
